Overview

Create enormous ice cubes with the Colossal Ice Cube Tray.

Thanks to the phenomenon of surface-area-to-volume ratio, these large cubes will melt slower and chill your drink for longer. This also has the added benefit of diluting your drink less than smaller cubes.

Silicone construction makes it easy to pop-out your half-dozen two-inch monster cubes.

Make gigantic ice cubes!

We didn't want to go home, so we went big.

With the Colossal Ice Cube Tray, you can create ridiculously large (yet still highly functional and usable) ice cubes. Each cube has sides that are two inches (5 cm) long.

Keeps drinks colder, longer, and with less dilution

Think of a massive ice cube in the same terms as that huge mound of snow that lingers in the parking lot long after all the snow on the grass has melted. The larger the cube, the longer it takes to melt. Thank you, surface-area-to-volume ratio!

So, not only will your gigantic ice cube make a fun visual statement, it will also keep your drinks colder for a longer period of time; it will also dilute your drink less than a similar volume of smaller cubes.

Burning Questions: You Ask and We Answer

Burning Questions: You ask and we answer!
Your questions that have been answered by the Vat19.com staff:
Do they hurt alot if there are thrown at someone?
It's a solid block of ice. Yes, it would probably hurt quite a lot if you threw it at somebody. If you're interested in HOW much it would hurt, we'd be happy to accept your application to be our test subject.
About how long do the ice cubes last in a glass?
That will largely depend on the temperature of the drink it's floating in. Regardless, a single cube will last through several refills.
Will it blend?
Yes. That's how daiquiris are made.
Can I make a chocolate cube with the Ice Tray?
We don't see why not!
Because i live in England, Do i still have to pay in dollars or are british pounds fine? because i dont want to change some pounds into dollars just to get an AWESOME FREAKIN GIANT ICE CUBE THING-A-MAJIG
We don't accept cash regardless, so you won't have to worry about changing your money. When you use your credit card online we'll take care of the exchange rate automatically.
How long does it take to freeze the cubes in the tray?
About 3-4 hours, just like any other tray of ice cubes. We recommend letting them freeze overnight.
First question, yay! How exactly does it dilute less? I don't get it.
Re-read the portion of the page where we compare it to a patch of snow that lasts even when the rest has melted. Basically, the larger a chunk of ice is, the slower it melts.
What's the point? Longer lasting ice? Or just collosal ice cubes.
Why not both? The "point" of ice cubes are self-evident; the larger they are the longer they last.
Why do you have this?
To better facilitate the global demand for larger-than-normal ice cubes.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Absolutely. The Colossal Ice Cube Tray is made of silicone, so there is nothing to fear from putting it in the dish washer.
Could you use a different types of liquid than ice?
We suppose you can use any liquid you like as long as it is able to be frozen.
How long would a ice cube last in water that is at 24°C? (The air around it is also the same temperature.)
It will depend on whether or not the liquid stays the same temperature (it won't) and what the liquid actually is. Tell you what; if you find out let us know!
Will it fit the wobbly whiskey glasses you sell?
Not unless you shave the corners off the cube.
will it taste like plastic when you freeze it sometimes it tastes like plastic ...is it made of plastic?
The tray is made of silicone. It will not make your ice taste like plastic.
How much time does it take for 1 Colossal ice cube to melt???
That will depend primarily on the temperature in which they sit, but in most circumstances the cube will outlast several refills.
let say that where drikning vodka why would i use a big icecube instead of a vodka cubes just freeze vodka and put in your vodka just a question love your website:D
Vodka doesn't freeze. High alcohol content has a much lower freezing temperature than water.
Two questions. Is the silicon tray sturdy or does it get all wobbly? Can you pour hot coffee in it to make coffee cubes?
It's silicone, so it's inherently rubbery, but it's not so flimsy that you need to worry about spills. Regarding the coffee, go for it! You don't need our permission.
How big is the tray?
Approximately 4" x 6". The lip is flexible, so the dimensions of the cubes determine the size it will accommodate.
How long would they last by itself or room temperature water?
That depends on the ambient temperature of the room or the water in question. Regardless, these massive cubes will last quite a long time.
Did you tell Ice Cube or Vanilla Ice about your product? They may be very interested.
No, but we did hear that Ice T is interested.
Are you making a video of this thing on YouTube soon?
There are no plans for a video. Sorry!
Do you have any big glasses that i could fit this in because most of my glasses wont fit ice cubes of this size.
I'm pretty sure that they will fit. Most glasses are wider than 2 inches in diameter.
will you guys come with a video
We do not have plans to make a video for this product as of now.
Are these trays stackable in the freezer? Would the bottom of the top tray rest on the water/ice of the lower tray (assuming that both trays are filled to an optimal level)? Or would the lower tray likely collapse under the weight of the upper?
They aren't stackable unless the bottom tray is frozen, but the ice is strong enough to support the weight of a second tray.
What if it is too big to fit in your glass?
Most glasses are larger than 2" across, but if that's the case simply choose a larger glass.
If you lie in a pool of them, completely covered except your head for 5 minutes, I'll buy 5. Or, however long you can go for with one person, I'll buy that many.
We're not sure if hypothermia is worth it. For once, summer in Missouri hasn't been like living on the sun.
When are you going to post the video for this awesome product?
There are no plans to make a video at this time. We trust that most of our visitors have a pretty good idea of how ice cubes work.
Can I use these in the Das Boot and Das Horn ?
I don't see why not. Enjoy your drink however you like!
My dog is super big and loves ice cubes would she like this?
That certainly stands to reason! If your dog likes ice cubes then surely it will like these ice cubes.
How many "normal sized" or "average sized" cubes would this thingy-ma-bobber make with 1 Colossal cube?
Questions like this are difficult to answer because there really isn't any such thing as a "normal" or "average" sized ice cube because trays and ice machines create cubes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. We suggest taking a ruler, finding out how big 2" is, and compare that to whatever ice cubes you normally use. Either way the Colossal Ice Cube Tray is going to make much larger cubes than what you're used to.
I've seen silicone baking dishes other places. Should I decide I need to make cube cakes, would this ice tray survive in an oven, ? Assuming survival, how difficult would it be to remove said cube cakes from the tray?
Neither we nor the manufacturer recommend attempting to use the Colossal Ice Cube Tray in the oven. It is not tested or designed for such use.
Can I put the Ice cube in a Giant Beer Glass?
We're going to pretend that you didn't just ask us if you could put ice in beer.
What would happen if you sat in a pool of gigantic ice cubes?
Unless you're part of the Polar Bear Club, you can expect some serious shrinkage.
Will this prevent ice cubes from attacking my face when I'm trying to finish a drink?
Is this a problem? We can't do much about gravity (yet!) but we don't think you'll have too much difficulty.
Will it crack?
The tray? Absolutely not. The tray is made of flexible silicone and will not crack like hard plastic ice cube trays.
You could get the tray that is colored blue so that it will be more fitting for the ice cubes?
We don't have other colors available at this time, but red works just as well as blue.
Can I use any liquid besides water?
Any liquid that is capable of freezing, sure. It's just a tray.
Do you deliver to London?
Yes, we ship internationally.
How much does one ice cube weigh?
Not very much at all. It's just an ice cube, after all.
How does it dilute the drink less then the same volume of ice cubes? It should equally dilute since their the same volume.
Technically, it dilutes the drink slower than the same volume of smaller cubes. However, our assumption is that you'll be finished with the drink prior to the entire cube melting.
Is the cube measured in inches?
That's how we measure it, but you are free to refer to it in your measurement system of choice.
Will it take a much longer time to freeze the water?
You're freezing more water than you normally would, but most people refill their ice cube trays and let them freeze overnight, so you won't be too terribly burdened.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Generally speaking silicone is dishwasher safe. In this case, we would recommend the top rack just to keep the tray from being thrown about.
What if this doesn't fit in my glass? What do I do?
Most drinking glasses are larger than 2" in diameter. We don't think you'll have much trouble finding a suitable glass.
Don't you guys hate ice, as it dilutes drinks?
It depends on the drink. We would never dream of diluting whiskey or wine, but a soda would be okay.
Will you make a video?
There are no plans for a video at this time. Sorry!
Aren't you guys against the concept of Ice Cubes?
That's not really relevant. Whether or not you use ice should have to do with your own preference. With that being said, we will still automatically think less of anyone who plops an ice cube in their Cabernet Sauvignon.
How long does the ice cube last (before melting)?
That will largely depend on the temperature of the drink it's floating in. Regardless, a single cube will last through several refills.
how can you put it in a bottle of water
You can't! These giant cubes work best in drinking glasses.
So this is a proper cube not a 3-d trapizium cause I dont like that shape.
Yes, the Colossoal Ice Cube Tray will make actual cubes of ice.
