Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Couldn't a kid buy this and make beer illegally?

Answer: You can do a lot of things illegally if you really want. We'd like to think that involved parents would stumble upon their child brewing two gallons of beer, confiscate the beer, punish their child, and then consume the beer themselves.

Question: What do the beers taste like?

Answer: The kit includes the Diablo IPA. Please refer to the table above that outlines (in decidedly flowery language) what to expect from each brew.

Question: Why would I bother with this when I go to any store and buy beer?

Answer: We've used this explanation before, but it's apropos here as well. A car is a more efficient mode of transportation than walking. However, taking a walk is a different experience that can be just as (or even more) enjoyable than a car ride.

The same is true with brewing your own beer. You're not going to replace your favorite store-bought beers with Mr. Beer. But there's something undeniably fun about making something yourself. And when that thing happens to be beer, how can you not be psyched?
