Overview

The PepperBall One-Handed Pepper Grinder is the simplest and most fun pepper grinder we've come across. When it's time to grind, squeeze the spring-loaded handles. If you need to adjust the coarseness of your ground pepper, flip the PepperBall Pepper Grinder over and set the grind-tune lever to one of five different settings.

The PepperBall Pepper Grinder comes filled with peppercorns and is extremely easy to refill through a sliding door on the PepperBall's side.

As today's kids would say, "get your grind on"

Actually, today's kids would be talking about something completely different and punishable with expulsion from school (especially if caught doing it on the dance floor at prom). Rather, what we're talking about is grinding pepper. With only one hand!

The PepperBall Pepper Grinder features a pair of spring-loaded handles that makes grinding fun and easy. Plus, the PepperBall's handles and round bottom make it look like a rabbit. And who doesn't like a cute wittle bunny whunny? Ewww. Point being, the PepperBall is a simple, maintenance-free, one-handed pepper grinder that can be used at both the dinner table and while preparing meals.

Adjust the coarseness of the grind with the twist of your wrist

Flip over the PepperBall Pepper Grinder and adjust the dial of the GrindTune lever between five different settings to achieve your desired peppercorn coarseness. This feature makes it so easy to switch between thick, almost full-size peppercorn chunks to super-fine pepper granules.

Burning Questions: You Ask and We Answer

Burning Questions: You ask and we answer!
Your questions that have been answered by the Vat19.com staff:
can it be used with salt? most pepper mills can not be used to grind rock salt, hence the question...
No, the grinding mechanism in the PepperBall Pepper Grinder is made specifically for grinding pepper.
is the grinding mechanism itself metal or plastic?
It is zinc.
How do you clean the pepper ball? Can it be washed???
Using any liquid to clean the PepperBall Pepper Grinder is not recommended, as it can damage the grinding rasp and dispensing wheel if they are not completely dried. You can use a soft cloth or soft brush to clean it out.
How do you clean the inside of this grinder? We have Salt Grinder too. We cannot use it anymore as condensation had set in and we cannot get to clean it. Please advice.
You should use a soft cloth or a soft brush to clean the inside of the PepperBall Grinder. You should not use any liquid to clean it because moisture can damage the inside parts.
Could I use salt?
The PepperBall's grinding mechanism is made specifically for grinding pepper, so salt should not be used in it. Check out our Dual PepperBall instead!
will this grinder, powder cayenne pepper seeds and skins with consistency?
You can try using the PepperBall for grinding cayenne pepper seeds, but the manufacturer does not recommend using the PepperBall for anything but its intended purpose, which is grinding peppercorns.
Why can't it use salt? Would it be wise to try?
No, the grinding mechanism in the PepperBall Pepper Grinder is made specifically for grinding pepper. Salt is a LOT harder than dried pepper corns.
I got my pepperball wet...how can i dry it out to keep using it?
There are a few steps you can take. First, you could try to clean and dry your PepperBall. Remove all the peppercorns and leave the PepperBall to dry for at least 24 hours. Liquid may damage the grinding rasp if the unit is not completely dry when you refill it. The manufacturer does not recommend cleaning the grinder with chemicals. However, you can swab out the inside of your PepperBall with a soft cloth or clean off the grinding rasp. To clean the rasp, turn the PepperBall upside down and squeeze the handles together. You'll see the rasp sticking out from the bottom of the unit; while it's sticking out, clean off the rasp with a soft cloth.
If I were to refill one of these with corse sea salt to grind instead of pepper, would it still work?
The PepperBall's grinding mechanism is made specifically for grinding pepper, so salt should not be used in it. Check out our Dual PepperBall instead!
why is the pepperball pepper grinder shaped like a rabbit?
Well, the "ear" design makes it very easy and comfortable to grind the peppercorns. It's also cute!
How do you get the ball open to wipe the inside of the pepper grinder ball?
The manufacturer does not recommend cleaning the grinder with water or chemicals.
Why shouldn't salt be used in it?
Because salt is harder than pepper corns and it could ruin the grinder.
Is there any way to take the ball apart to clean it?
No. You should use a soft cloth or a soft brush to clean the inside of the PepperBall Grinder. You should not use any liquid to clean it because moisture can damage the inside parts.
Is the ball's ears easy for kids to squeeze?
It depends on the kid. There's nothing inherently difficult about pepper grinders.
What kind of spices can I use in the pepper ball?
Peppercorn, mostly.
How do you refill it? I can't get it open.
The PepperBall has a refill window on the side of the ball. Slide this rectangular window down (like a sliding glass door) and you'll be able to fill your grinder in a snap. There may be clear tape holding the door shut; this is placed there so the pepper doesn't fall out during shipment. Just peel it off - and fill with ease.
When i first saw it, i thought it was a rabbit head.
It does look like a rabbit! Every time I see it I think of "Donnie Darko".
Hi; I have the pepper ball, but still can't figure how to open it to refill. Can you please tell me? There is a black plastic on the side, but does not open. Thank you

Wan it grind coffee beans?
We haven't tried coffee beans, but they might be a little too large to be properly ground up by the PepperBall.
Is the PepperBall dishwasher safe?
No, it is not.
DO you have a grinder like this for salt?...if i have a pepper one i like to have a matching salt one.
We do not have a similar one specifically for salt, but we do have the Dual Pepperball, which has both a salt and pepper grinder in one!
I accidentally dropped my pepper grinder in to the hot sauce in a pan and the some of the sauce leaked in to the ball. The pepper corns are soaked - how can I clean it out?
Empty out the ruined peppercorns and wipe out the inside of the PepperBall with a soft cloth or brush. The manufacturer does not recommend using soap and water to clean it as water can damaged its inside parts.
