That's because the colors are all dye-based, meaning they last longer and spread farther than pigment-based ink. Dye-based inks also dry faster than pigment-based ink, making them ideal for layering the set's translucent colors on top of each other.

The set even includes a final page of specially coated cardstock that folds out, allowing you to mix colors from any page in the set and easily wipe it clean after use.
