how come they return to their normal shape, not just form back into a circle?

The secret lies in their construction - the Zoo Animal Rubber Bands are made of silicone instead of plain rubber, so they hold the shape they were molded in.

If you use the rubber band around something for a while, does it retain the shape?

Yes, just like regular rubber bands that return to their original shape, the zoo animal rubber bands will return to their animal shape. You'll also find that these rubber bands are slightly thicker than standard rubber bands, thus ensuring that they'll maintain their shape.

Do they come in the cow shape? PS I saw some at Office Depot

what are all the animals

I live in the UK. If I bought these on average how long would I have to wait before they arrived. I just don't want to miss too much school sitting in front of my door waiting untill theya arrive.

ACK! That girl put one around her hair! Wouldn't the rubber bands snag and pull half your scalp from your skull just like regular rubber bands? Or are they specialeritastic?

The Zoo Animal Rubber Bands are not the best for putting in your hair, but they'll get the job done when you're in a pinch and need something to hold your hair back.

Why do you (or they) call it Rubber Bands if their made of silicone????

Because "rubber band" is part of the collective vernacular, whereas "silicone bands" is not. I think it's the same reason why everyone refers to adhesive bandages as Band-Aids.

How are silicone polymers different from the latex used in regular elastic bands? Will these release energy when stretched, and absorb energy (cool) when allowed to "relax"?

You made us hit the books on this one! For your first question: In a nutshell, silicone polymers have both higher thermal stability and higher oxidation resistance than latex. What this means is that silicone bands can withstand more heat and will not decompose at temperatures where latex rubber would begin to fall apart (or melt). Silicone's higher oxidation resistance means the bands won't dry out and get crumbly like latex rubber bands. For your second question: While we're not entirely sure what you're asking, we believe the answer is "yes". Following the laws of physics, potential energy is stored in a system when a force acting upon it causes the system to have more energy than its "relaxed" reference point. This energy can be released as heat. Then once the force is released and the system returns to its relaxed point, the potential energy (and heat) is reduced. This being said, you probably won't actually feel the change in temperature with silicone bands because their widths are smaller.

Are these more durable than Silly Bandz?

These rubber bands are not the Silly Bandz brand. We are not familiar with the quality of that brand, so we can't really say. We will say that our Zoo Animal Rubber Bands are durable (check out our video!) and that we have not received any complaints about them breaking.

Why are you still selling these after the "band" craze has stopped?

For the record, we had these before that craze started. We think of them as cute and useful rubber bands rather than part of a grade school fad.

what kind of themes are there

These rubberbands are zoo animal themed. We do not have any other types of really cool rubberbands. But we do have Giant Paper Clips and Animal Paper Clips!

No, they're pretty durable and should not break with normal use.

just to answer someones question. yes they do leave marks on your wrists after you wear them. the marks come espacially fast if they're tight of if you wear a bunch at one time. :)

I think you may have answered your own question. These bands will only leave indentations on your skin if they're too tight, and that would depend on the size of your wrist.

Are the transparent ones glow in the dark?

Sorry, but our Zoo Animal Bands do not glow in the dark.

If the rubber bands meet extreme heat will they still keep their shape?

Zoo Animal Rubber Bands are designed to withstand temperatures up to 374 degrees F and down to -40 degrees F. Normal heat and sun exposure should not be a problem - since they're made of silicone, not rubber, they don't "melt" at the same temperatures.

Is it EVER posible to break the shape of the animals without breaking it?

During our tests the animals always returned to their shapes, but we won't say it is impossible.

No, the Zoo Animals are only available in the smaller, wrist-sized band form.

1.) The Zoo Animal Rubber Bands are resilient and should not snap after repeated normal use. 2.) Nope. These are the cleanest animals you'll ever have.

The Zoo Animal Rubber Bands should not break with normal use. As with any rubber band, if you stretch it around something obnoxiously big, it could break. We hope you like them!

What if I love a special animal shape and use it for everything...will it eventually get brittle and break and pop my eyeball?

The Zoo Animal Rubber Bands are reusable, but if you are wrapping them around unreasonably large things, they could break. As for popping an eyeball, you should never play with rubber bands near your face!
